When you consider that we take in 20,000 breaths consisting of 10 to 20 thousand liters of air every single day, it’s easy to see how essential clean air is to our overall health and well-being. According to a 2017 Lancet report, air pollution has become an unprecedented environmental health hazard, affecting 92% of the world’s population and causing over 7 million deaths each year. Yikes!
Residents of New York, Oregon, and California face the highest possibility of developing cancer from inhaling toxic chemicals, according to an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) study that revealed almost 2.2 million people reside in neighborhoods where pollution raises the risk of developing cancer to unacceptable levels.
Did You Know? Sixty percent of Americans are breathing air dirty enough to endanger lives. -The American Lung Association

Poor Indoor Air Quality
The EPA and its Science Advisory Board (SAB) have consistently ranked indoor air pollution among the top five environmental risks to public health. Contamination can come from a variety of sources including molds, carcinogenic fibers like fiberglass or asbestos, formaldehyde, dander, pollen, bacteria, dust, dust mites, smoke and smog, and volatile organic compounds that off-gas from furnishings and cleaning products to air fresheners and building materials, just to name a few.
Did You Know? Indoor air, on average, is 2 to 5 times more polluted than the outdoor air. –The EPA
The question is, do you have an effective strategy to clean your indoor air to protect yourself and your family?
The Toxicity of Household Dust
Dust is the second leading cause of allergies, followed by pollen. Left to linger, dust gives toxins from cleaning and office supplies and electronics a place to land. Scientists at George Washington University, Harvard University and the University of California at San Francisco found 45 toxins in household dust in a study published in the journal Environmental Science & Technology. These toxins include flame retardants, plasticizers, solvents, and preservatives. According to the study, any household dust sample will likely contain one or more of 10 harmful substances with health risks associated with cancer and reproductive damage.
Although the chemicals are considered toxic or harmful to the immune and reproductive, systems, they are legal. That means, the more dust around, the more you are exposed to these toxins, thereby polluting your indoor air.
On top of that, many offices have a severe dust mite problem, and there are likely millions lurking in yours. Each dust ball can contain as many as 250,000 mites. Stop being so hospitable to these dust mites. To rid your home or office of these and other contaminants, a whole house or portable air purifier that is proven to remove biological and chemical pollutants is essential.
Did You Know? The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that each day we inhale the equivalent of “two teaspoons” of dust just by breathing the air in our homes. Exposure to household dust causes eye, nose, throat, and lung irritation.
The High Cost of Allergies & Asthma
The annual cost of allergies, according to the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, is 18 billion dollars. Since the 1980s, asthma rates have doubled and even quadrupled in some areas of the country! According to the Allergy and Asthma Foundation of America (AAFA), more than 50 million Americans have experienced various types of allergies each year. Among the country’s most overlooked diseases, allergies are the 6th leading cause of chronic illness in the U.S. Currently; there is no cure for allergies.
Asthma attacks have been linked to exposure from environmental factors like allergens, tobacco smoke, and indoor and outdoor air pollution. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that over 26 million Americans have asthma. Like allergies, there is no cure for asthma. Add to this the fact that 44 million homes in the U.S. (45% of all households) have a very serious dust mite problem and you get a recipe for asthma triggers!
The Solution: IQAir
Did you know Ordinary HEPA filters can only filter 0.3-micron particles and larger? IQAir’s line of patented HyperHEPA filter goes further. HyperHEPA filters remove 99.5% of particles down to 0.003 microns, which are 10,000% smaller than the Department of Energy’s required 0.3-micron particle size. See how IQAir compares to the competition:
The IQAir HyperHEPA filter removes course (pollen and mold), fine (allergens, bacteria, and dust) and ultrafine particles down to 0.003 microns. Ultrafine particles, or UFP’s, are the most prevalent and most dangerous particles consisting of over 90 percent of all airborne particles. These UFP’s include pollutants such as viruses, tobacco smoke, and soot. Ultrafine particles are inhaled and absorbed directly into the lungs where they penetrate tissues and can be incorporated into the bloodstream due to their small size. Once in the blood, these ultrafine particles can reach any organ or part of the body.

1.) The IQAir HealthPro Plus
The IQAir HealthPro Plus is the number one rated portable air purifier for asthma and allergies. The IQAir Health Pro Plus is tested and certified to filter particulates down to 0.003 microns with a guaranteed minimum efficiency of over 99.5%. The Health Pro Plus effectively filters up to 1,000 square feet.
Protection Against Ultrafine Particles
Let’s put this in perspective – a micron is 300 times smaller than the thickness of one human hair. The IQAir HealthPro Plus captures the ultra-small particles, literally removing as much as 100 times the amount of air pollutants and allergens that other air purifiers miss. Those tiny “ultrafine” particles are so small they go right from your lungs into your bloodstream. You can’t see them, but scientific studies have linked them to asthma, heart attacks, strokes, even cancer.
Unlike particles, the molecules that comprise gases, odors, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are not solid and will float through even the densest HyperHEPA filters. That’s why the HealthPro Plus features a patented V-5 Cell gas and odor filter that stops odors, chemicals and gases in the air to eliminate harmful chemicals and compounds with five pounds of activated carbon.
2.) The Atem Car Air Purifier
Atem Car’s HyperHEPA Plus filtration is effective against particles 100x smaller than ordinary air filters. Ultrafine particles (UFPs) are smaller than 0.1 microns. Traffic pollution is a primary source of UFPs – and when it comes to protection against UFPs, IQAir is the proven choice.
Powerful air cleaning technology of the Atem Car air purifier cleans your interior air up to 20 times per hour, providing you with the cleanest possible air for your commute. By utilizing IQAir’s revolutionary HyperHEPA Plus filter, the Atem Car will be absorbing gases and odors while converting the pollutants to an oxidized form.
3.) The AirVisual Pro
The AirVisual Pro is the world’s smartest air quality monitor that is a part of the largest air quality monitoring network in the world. With IFTTT (if this then that) functionality, the AirVisual Pro allows your gadgets, apps, and devices to talk to each other; making the air quality data, including temperature, humidity, CO2, and AQI, from your AirVisual Pro actionable. With LED lighting and a rechargeable battery, this monitor can check both indoor and outdoor pollution to measure particulate matter, carbon dioxide, humidity, and temperature.
