We’ve discussed mold before in a past post (Got Mold?), on The Suzanne Show and on The Doctors (watch below). There are at least 1,000 species of mold that are common in the U.S. The four most common species found in homes include: Cladosporium, Penicillium, Alternaria and Aspergillus. Mold in your home is a serious issue that must be addressed immediately since mold has the potential to cause health problems and even make a home uninhabitable. Everyone is affected differently when in contact with mold depending on sensitivity, immune system, type of mold, etc. Some molds can produce potentially toxic chemical substances known as mycotoxins.
