We don’t often consider the impact that light has on our physical bodies. By incorporating additional light into an interior space, we can feel more grounded and centered. Light can simultaneously lift one’s mood and enhance our overall well-being.
There are a few simple ways to incorporate more light into your home, and this infographic from HappyCleans offers some wonderful suggestions.
1.) Clean
Keeping your home clean and free from excess clutter is one of the easiest ways to ensure that you have a happy, light-filled home. Consider clearing items off of window sills, and keeping the horizontal spaces and walkways free and clear.
One simple way to help clutter clear is to hire a professional cleaning service. This team can work with you to help manage some of the smaller tasks which are frequently pushed aside such as dusting, sweeping, and tackling small odds and ends which never seem to be completed.
2.) Paint
If possible, lighten up your paint colors, in order to welcome natural light into your existing environment. This might mean changing your paint shade or selecting one wall to paint a bright accent color while maintaining a white or light neutral shade on other surfaces.
3.) Redecorate
A bit less messy than paint, one of the easiest ways to incorporate more light into your home is through a mini-makeover. This can be achieved by bringing in mirrors or reflective, shiny items into your home. You could also add light-colored throw-pillows, curtains, fabrics, blankets, or even by adding a slipcover to mask darker upholstered furniture items. Consider moving items around to better allow for light to permeate your space.
